With frequent burning, it is worth comparing the vermiculite panel to its condition after installation. Its seating, geometry, and changes requiring action according to the insert instructions matter. Usage frequency alone does not determine the durability of each format or the mandatory replacement time.
Keep the proper panel data
Vermiculite Fire Board is an insulating material with a declared resistance up to 1100°C within the described range. The device documentation should specify a compatible lining. Record the thickness, arrangement, and method of retaining the panel before the old element becomes difficult to identify.
During cold inspection, mark any missing material, changes at the edge, and the condition of fastening. Compare the same side with an earlier photo. The insert requirements indicate when an element ceases to perform its function; do not make a universal assessment solely based on the appearance of one scratch.
Do not substitute materials according to temperature
Dense firebrick serves different functions than a lightweight insulating board. Its mass and method of heat transfer differ from vermiculite. A similar outline does not confirm a correct replacement for a specific location.
Ceramic Fibre Board also has its own properties and requirements. The choice of a new panel should include the format, support, and material protection. A higher temperature value does not explain the behaviour of the complete firebox after changing the lining.
Limit accidental damage
Operate and clean the chamber using the method intended for the device. A tool repeatedly striking the same corner should be considered when assessing the cause of a defect. Do not modify mounting points without confirming the required geometry.
When replacing, try fitting the appropriate panel cold and follow the described installation. Record the date, material, and a photo after installation. Subsequent inspections will refer to the actual history of the part, rather than a service-life estimate based only on the general term 'intensive firing'.
